Thrilling drivers for over 60 years

Nissan has been empowering drivers with breathtaking performance and superior capability for more than six decades. That's because we believe, at our core, that driving is an act of freedom. Of inspiration and even rebellion. How could we not? In moments like those, where everything else is lost to the thrill of gripping the wheel and pressing down on the accelerator – that's when we feel alive. Excited and incredible. Capable of anything and ready for everything. Join us as we celebrate those moments by celebrating the vehicles that got us here.

Heritage Nissan® Models

That familiar feeling

The storied Nissan lineup has had its share of thrills and then some. Our fast cars, tough trucks and other beloved models have been highway and backroad staples for over half a century. And with our future-focused engineers leading the way, you can count on seeing – and expecting – more from the Nissan badge in the years and decades to come.

1959 – Datsun 1000

Chrome, tailfins and V8s reigned supreme in ‘59, but that didn’t stop Datsun from going to market with this plucky compact truck. Despite a diminutive 1000cc, 37HP engine, it could haul a quarter-tonne. And it looked like a million bucks.

1969 – Datsun 240Z

With a twin-carb inline 6-cylinder engine capable of 151HP, the Z made a statement to American and European manufacturers: that when it came to sports cars, Japan was a powerful contender.

1987 – Pathfinder

Pathfinder made Nissan and 4x4 adventuring synonymous. Back in ’87, it came with two doors, a massive tailgate and a huge appetite – as well as ability – for getting into those out-of-the-way places.

The hard-working, hard-wearing Hardbody trucks put Nissan on the map for utility and value in the small truck market. You can still see them today – both on and off the road.

The Sentra and Micra Cups

Our racing DNA

Canadian racing fans are no strangers to the thrill of racing – in a Nissan. Since 2015, Nissan Canada has celebrated that fact by organizing and celebrating the street-ready capabilities of our most modest models, beginning with the Micra Cup and continuing today with the Sentra Cup racing series.

Two-car lineup at Micra Cup

Micra Cup

Our first foray into road racing series, the Micra Cup was held in Eastern Canada over six weekends, with two rounds per meeting. Beloved for its compact and inexpensive nature, as well as its zippy and fun ability to tear around the track, the Nissan Micra was ultimately discontinued in 2020 – but not before leaving fans with an appreciation for what an entry-level Nissan was capable of.

Nissan Sentra at Sentra Cup

Sentra Cup

The successor to the Micra Cup racing series, the Sentra Cup also takes place over six weekends. Hosted on tracks across Quebec and Ontario from May to September, each weekend is split up into four races: a 30-minute trial, a 30-minute qualifying session, and two 40-minute races. Stripped down and transformed into race-ready versions of themselves, each Sentra enters the track with nothing more than a 4-cylinder, 2.0L engine and 149 HP under the hood.
